Bringing home the Bronze!

As you may be aware, the T-Base Athletic Sponsorship Program was created for individuals who exemplify a drive for success.  In the 2007/2008 sponsorship year, we have had the fortune of sponsoring blind runner, and now three-time Paralympian, Jason Dunkerley who races with the assistance of directional and verbal cues from a sighted guide running closely beside him.

Jason has just returned to Canada after competing in the 2008 Paralympic Games and brought home the Bronze in the 1500m event for his B1 class! I couldn’t be more proud of Jason.

When Jason was chosen as this past years’ recipient, there was no doubt in my mind that he would accomplish great things.  Since having the pleasure to get to know him, I have witnessed evidence of this first hand and in so many ways.  In addition to the athletic ability required for such a demanding sport, Jason has excelled in his professional and recreational aspirations. Working as a multi-linguistic braille expert in document design for T-Base and a guitarist in his spare time, he is truly blessed with so many talents. Jason’s optimism and outlook on life is infectious and he is a true inspiration to all - empowering those he meets with the belief that no challenge is too difficult to overcome.  I invite you to please join me in congratulating Jason in this most impressive accomplishment.
