Requesting input from my communities

The Accessible Information and Communications Standards Development Committee (I & C SDC) was established under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 to develop a proposed Ontario standard for accessible information and communications, to be considered by the government for adoption into a regulation.

The Standards Development Committee is working to reach consensus on an initial draft of a proposed standard. As a member of the Committee, I am seeking your informal input into (the draft document) from individuals as well as organizations so that I can advise the entire Committee as to your input as it works to finalizing its proposed standard.

This will not be your only opportunity to comment on the proposed standard. Once the I & C SDC has completed its Initial Proposed Standard, the standard will be sent for a period of public review by the Minister of Community and Social Services at which time you will again, have an opportunity to provide input and suggest changes.

I would appreciate any comments or suggestions for changes to the initial draft of the proposed standard to me before Monday September 13th, 2008. I will be consolidating the input I receive over the next couple of weeks and bringing that input to the attention of the rest of the SDC at the next meeting of the Committee in early October.

If you require alternate formats or supports related to the review of this document, please let me know.   Please feel free to provide input by commenting on this post or by sending me a personal email at sayotte@tbase.com.

I thank you for your support and look forward to your valued input!
