T-Base gets behind fraud prevention
With all countries around the globe recognizing March as Fraud Prevention month, it is perhaps more important than ever for organizations to ask themselves whether their most vulnerable customers and constituents are being protected from potential risk .
When North America’s approximately 12.8 million blind and partially sighted individuals receive any personal identity, (government-issued documents), and account information, (bank/credit card statements, credit reports), in standard print, these consumers, along with their public and private institutions, face a greater risk of fraud. Why is this? Essentially, individuals unable to access private information in a timely and independent fashion, (a) are unable to verify warranted account activity during a critical period, and (b) are forced to allow a third party access to their confidential, and potentially compromised information.
Fraud remains one of the most problematic issues facing businesses worldwide. According to PWC’s 2007 Global Fraud Report that surveyed forty countries, over 43% of companies reported “suffering one or more significant economic crimes during the previous two yearsâ€, and the total average cost of fraud to businesses globally was a staggering $2,971,056.
While March is officially designated as Fraud Prevention month, security and fraud prevention should remain top priority for companies on a daily basis. With a business mission dedicated to ensuring the private and secure delivery of information to blind and partially sighted consumers, we are committed to protecting the end consumer, as well as the institutions they choose to do business with.
During the month of March, I am inviting corporations to test their “Fraud Knowledgeâ€. After completing the short quiz, you will automatically see your score and be directed to a FREE white paper with full text answers and fraud prevention techniques.
Make sure you’re keeping your customers, and your business, safe this month and onward!
