The blind deafblind communities are becoming very excited that the decision will be positive and the Government appeal will be deemed invalid. Regardless of the appeal, there is much evidence pointing to activity across the Government that accessibility related initiatives are well underway.

On Monday, I was pleased to participate in a roundtable of business women at the Canadian Museum of Civilization as a guest of Honourable Minister Rona Ambrose, responsible for Public Works and Government Services and the Status of Women.

Present at the event were about twenty-five business women from the Ottawa/Gatineau area who had come to discuss the current procurement practices of Public Works and Government Services and the associated factors which have an impact on the success of our companies.

However, I strongly feel that braille is as useful, relevant and important as when it was first invented.

We just had an Earthquake here in Ottawa – somewhere between 5.5 and 5.7 on the Richter scale. From what we can tell, the earthquake was felt across most of Ontario and the northern United States.
